An Advanced, Literate Role-Playing Game.
- Entroido Vermello is an advanced and literate Role-Playing game intended for mature players only. It follows a travelling Circus and Carnival with a dark, supernatural twist. It should be noted, however, that we are not a usual supernatural role-playing game. We do not accept supernatural creatures exactly, but rather humans caught under supernatural or otherwise unnatural circumstances. For further information on character creation, please refer to our character creation guide, carnival positions roster, and canon lists. We do have a certain few exceptions to this rule, such as a few non-typical vampires, but these positions are canon only. We encourage new members to talk to a member of the staff if they have any other ideas that they might like to try out. We're willing to listen and compromise within reason, and are always intrigued to hear new ideas or spins on the old classics.
The Circus & Carnival.
- Entroido Vermello -Galician for 'Red Carnival'- was founded in Northern Spain in the early 1800s. Initially a small outfit of transient misfits and gypsies, the Carnival established a circuit throughout Europe during the early Victorian era, eventually moving to the United States around the 1870s. Flourishing in the late Victorian environment of morbid curiosity and gullibility, Entroido Vermello continued to grow, taking on new workers and new acts as it traveled up and down the busier cities of the East Coast. Eventually, its circuit expanded as the American Frontier began to grow and flourish. Throughout its illustrious history, it is rumoured -amongst the carnival's members- that the Ringmaster has presided since inception. Certainly, no-one employed with the carnival can remember there ever being another ringmaster. Those with their wits about them don't ask, and those without them rarely get answers. One thing is for certain though, Entroido Vermello might not just be all smoke and mirrors.
O Circo Vermello - the Circus- is reminiscent of the ever popular Cirque du Soleil. They do not house or utilise animals in the show, and will not in the future. (Entroido Vermello's Main Admin doesn't approve of the animal abuse that frequently goes on behind the scenes at classic circuses.) The show is carried on the talent of its performers alone, and its performers are legendary. Circus performer positions will be listed on our canon list or staff positions list. These performers are set apart from performers who comprise the sideshow acts that can be found at the carnival.
The Site & Layout.
- Enroido Vermello is a travelling outfit, and as such it move frequently from location to location. Some months it may be a large city, while others it may reside in a small, back-woods town. As such, parts of the site will change to reflect the location, offering new locations for role-playing, and new plot potential. The staple circus and carnival boards of the site will not change however. While the carnival set up may change in physical layout each time they set up in a new place, the standards remain.
